United instead of divided
Cooperations among municipalities, district counties, and regions have gained enormous signifi cance in the global competition for investors and skilled employees. In Upper Lusatia, this resulted in the establishment of an overall regional management already in 2002. In conjunction with its partners in Brandenburg- Lusatia and the Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa, the regional management assists and moderates regional cooperative processes for and on behalf of Upper Lusatia-Lower Silesia and even beyond the borders of today’s District Counties of Bautzen and Görlitz. Today, Upper Lusatia is a well functioning example of cooperative regional management and marketing. The region has a single development and marketing strategy which the Marketing-Gesellschaft Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien mbH corporation pursues and implements continuously.

The management of the Upper Lusatia region has set itself four main objectives:
The regional management team selects ideas for products or services and finds partners who can and want to implement these visions. In addition to the chamber of industry and commerce, technology centres and universities and colleges, local business promotion partners, business interest groups and associations, over 550 private companies and service providers are involved in product development as a major instrument of internal marketing.
In short: Regional management is the recognised partner for presentation, supervision and implementation of regional projects.
