The Upper Lusatia is one of the oldest textile regions in Europe. Today, it excels primarily with its innovation, flexibility and modernity. For example, the textile companies of the Upper Lusatia produce technical textiles, fluffy towelling, high-end clothing, weather-resistant awnings, colourful ribbons, fine linens, quality underwear, hard-wearing professional wear and domestic textiles. The Upper Lusatia also ties up the threads of the European textile industry, as it lies in the heart of the European textile region, which comprises the traditional centres of the textile and clothing industry in the German Federal States of Brandenburg and Saxony, as well as in the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic.
