An entrepreneur award with a long tradition
The Upper Lusatian Entrepreneur Award, known as the OLUP, is an award presented annually by the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz to three companies in Upper Lusatia. Particularly committed, successful and socially active entrepreneurs have been honored with this award since 1996. And it is not only the fact that it has been awarded for so many years that speaks for the importance of this award!
Jury with technical expertise
Before an award can be presented, a jury appointed by the districts meets. The jury is made up of IHK Dresden, HWK Dresden, Agentur für Arbeit Bautzen, Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH and Marketing-Gesellschaft Oberlausitz-Niederschlesien mbH. If appropriate, the jury will be expanded to include at least one specialist expert from .
Recognition for the award winners
The three equally ranked prize winners receive a trophy, a certificate and official and public recognition of their entrepreneurial achievements, donated by the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz. Public interest and an increase in press inquiries have been cited by previous winners as positive effects of the award.

The sustainable success of companies today depends more than ever on qualified, motivated and diverse specialists. In times of demographic change, global upheaval and changing working environments, the recruitment, development and retention of employees is one of the key challenges.
With the call for nominations for the 30th Upper Lusatian Entrepreneur Award, the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz are looking for companies that are particularly committed to securing the supply of skilled workers.
Nominations are particularly invited from the business promoters of the districts, towns and municipalities in Upper Lusatia. Associations, trade unions and private individuals are also cordially invited to nominate entrepreneurs.

H.aarSchneider GmbH, a hairdressing salon in Hoyerswerda, scores with an outstanding concept that combines customer focus and high quality to create a holistic feel-good offer. With a team of 29 employees and innovative communication channels - from online appointment booking to video consultations - the company is setting new standards in the hairdressing trade. The jury particularly emphasized the commitment to training young professionals and the family-friendly working conditions, which contribute to high employee and customer satisfaction. Managing Director Heiko Schneider was deeply moved after receiving the award. "It's wonderful and of course very motivating," he explained, and was particularly pleased for his entire team, who are there for customers with great commitment and enjoyment at work. "The fact that we won the Entrepreneur Award almost leaves us all a little speechless."
Lausitzer Ölmühle Hoyerswerda GmbH
Lausitzer Ölmühle Hoyerswerda GmbH, which was founded in 1924 and can therefore look back on 100 years of success, impresses with its continuous innovation and strong customer loyalty. Under the management of Regine Jorga, the company has established modern approaches to oil production without losing its regional roots and traditional craftsmanship. The planned company succession through the next generation shows the commitment to a sustainable future and the long-term commitment to the region. "I feel very honored," said Regine Jorga after the award ceremony. She had already been surprised by the nomination from the city of Hoyerswerda. "I didn't expect that we would actually win now," said the Managing Director happily.

Olgierd Linke, founder and Managing Director of Libertec GmbH, a young and dynamic agency for digital marketing in Görlitz, was also overwhelmed to win an entrepreneur award just three years after being founded. The company impresses with its expertise in digital transformation and deep commitment to the region. "This is not my prize, but the prize for our entire team, which is always hard-working and always there for our customers." The agency sees itself as a premium partner for digital communication strategies and has quickly established itself as a reliable partner for companies in Upper Lusatia. Libertec GmbH is also heavily involved in social projects such as the "Pulse Lounge", which integrates jobseekers from Poland into the region, and supports local sports clubs through marketing and media projects.
